Hrvoje Stojić
Croatian Employers’ Association, Chief Economist
Hrvoje Stojić has served as Chief Economist at the Croatian Employers’ Association (HUP) since December 2022, focusing on competitiveness policies, business environment reforms, the overall investment climate, and energy and ICT policies.
Previously, he spent more than 20 years in the financial industry, specializing in macroeconomic research, economic policy analysis, sectoral research, and corporate finance. During his career, he was responsible for macro strategy at the mandatory pension fund PBZ Croatia Osiguranje and headed economic research at the Addiko
Group (formerly Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank). While at Addiko Bank, he founded and established one of the most recognized research analyst teams in Croatia and Southeast Europe.
He also served as President of the Chief Economists Club at the Croatian Banking Association, as a delegate to the Chief Economists Group of the European Banking Federation (2017–2018), and as Editor-in-Chief of the White Book of the Foreign
Investors Council in Croatia (2016–2017). He is a multiple recipient of FocusEconomics awards for the accuracy of macroeconomic forecasts for Croatia, Slovenia, and Serbia between 2014 and 2022.
FocusEconomics also ranked him among the top three forecasters of the EUR/USD exchange rate and the best forecaster of the euro area balance of payments in 2021
and 2022.
